This update has installed successfully multiple times according to my update
log, however, the installation icon continues to appear in the system tray
prompting for installation. At shutdown, I am also prompted to shut down and
allow installation. I have Windows XP Pro and Office 2003, Norton 360. Any
clues?

KB936960 is for Office System 2007. Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack
for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats must be installed if
the system is being notified that KB936960 is available.
Is that the situation, Stephen ?
