I don't have my MicroSoft Update feature set to "Auto", so for a couple of
days, everytime I would boot up, I would get the notification that there were
updates ready for me. They were always the same two. Then the notification
morphed to just show "one" update that was ready and finally after about 4 or
5 days, the notifications just stopped. I did nothing, so who knows what
went on for the "phony" notifications to stop; but they did ??
I use to have the same problem with the "Genuine MicroSoft Update". I had
the exact update number installed on my PC and, would every now and then, get
a notification that I needed to install it "again". I just ignored it and
eventually, it stopped. Just more MS, BS !!
I wouldn't set my update selection to "auto" for all the tea in China.
