kb943411 hosed system. Won't uninstall. Won't reinstall

Have a Vista Business machine that installed 5 updates and now the system is
hosed. Only admins can login. Server service won't start along with about
10 others. Many other issues.
I was able to uninstall four of the updates, but 943411 won't uninstall,
gives an error that a problem occurred. The problems are still there. I
tired re-running the .msu for it, but it says it doesn't apply to my system
(I'm assuming because it is already "installed"). I'm making the assumption
that since the other updates came out okay and 943411 won't, that 943411 went
in poorly and is causing all my problems.

First, any way that I can force Vista to re-run that update even though it
thinks it's still there? Or, is there a way to force Vista to uninstall the
update? I don't care about making the system unstable. At this point we
have all the data off it we need, but I'd rather not reinstall the OS plus
all the other apps if there is a way to salvage Vista (as good as expected at
least).

Because there are no restore points to restore from.

While the sytem is booting up...just before the OS loads ...hit F8
then opt for last known good configuration.

(my guess is that it will not solve the problem...but I think it's worth a
try at least)

Yeah, since it will actually boot into Windows, albeit poorly, it no longer
has a good "last known good".

Bob, we can reimage the machine and go back and copy over all the data and
reinstall all the extra applications and have the user
reconfigure/repersonalize, but I'm hoping to avoid that. I just figured
there had to be a way to force Windows to reinstall an update. Why wouldn't
there be?

I'm currently installing SP1 RC1 Refresh in hopes it will overwrite whatever
is screwing the system up. If not, I guess we're back to being hosed.
