KB948496 Patch caused RDP and ODBC issues

My HP DL380 Windows 2003 Server SP2 downloaded the KB948496 patch a couple
days ago and now I cannot RDP into the server and the server cannot Connect
via ODBC to our AS400 system. When I unstall this patch things work fine
again, but if it is reinstalled the same problems occurr. Does anyone else
have this issue or know how to resolve it?

Are any of the issues listed in this KB occurring prior to the
installation of KB948496 ?

An update to turn off default SNP features is available for Windows
Server 2003-based and Small Business Server 2003-based computers
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948496

If not, then suggest you uninstall it and hide the update as it's
apparently not needed for this system.

Hi,

We've installed it on several HP BL460c g1 servers (running Win2003 x64 SP2,
two SQL 2005 SP2 servers and two Moss 2007 SP1 servers) with the PSP pack
(7.91) without any problems so far.
But we also disabled the same features on the NICS, according to method 2 in
this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948496

A guess that there may be conflicts if the NIC tries to use features that
are disabled in Windows.
