I had the same issue and had to do a system restore (Diff KB number tho).
In the end I downloaded the update and installed the update by it self from
ms themselves rather than from windows update (I also selected "run as
administrator" when I ran my download)...
Microsoft is offereing free technical support for SP1 related issues so if
you cannot find much help in the forums here, feel free to give them a call.
