Update of KB952069 keeps going on and on (170 times from 09-05-09)
Update history marks all repeated updates ok.
Product is Windows XP prof.
A selective start via msconfig and separate download did not solve the
issue.
Is Mediaplayer a possible cause? What to do?
Thanks for any help.

See the "How to obtain help" section of
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952069

For home users, no-charge support is available by calling 1-866-PCSAFETY
and/or 1-866-234-6020 in the United States and in Canada or by contacting
your local Microsoft subsidiary. There is no-charge for support calls that
are associated with security updates. When you call, clearly state that
your problem is related to a Security Update and cite the update's KB number
(e.g., KB952069).

Or you can...

Start a free Windows Update support incident request:
https://support.microsoft.com/oas/de...spx?gprid=6527

For more information about how to contact your local Microsoft subsidiary
for security update support issues, visit the International Support Web
site: http://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx

For enterprise customers, support for security updates is available through
your usual support contacts.

Dear PA Bear,

I like to thank you for the solution of the update problem which I found via
the international Support Website.

The solution suggested, was to uninstall the updates of WMP and the WMP11
itself.
The KB952069 got downloaded 'just only once' when reinstalling WMP10.
The problem is past now!
Many thanks for your advise and kind regards,
