KB953838 - Fails Verification

Hi All,

Using the BelArc Advisor 7.2x, I see the KB953838 Fails Verification.
Downloading said KB953838 also Fails Verification.

Does anyone have any idea on this?

I have reinstall Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 and applied all
hotfixes before upgrading to Service Pack 3. After installing Service Pack 3
and applying all hotfixes, then running the BelArc Advisor, everything is
fine. The last thing I did was to install Windows Internet Explorer 7 and
then I ran the BelArc Advisor and KB953838 fails verification, again.

Anyone have a solution, or just leave it alone?

If the following are listed in Add/Remove Programs, everything's OK:

- Security Update for Windows IE7 (KB958215) [which supersedes KB953838]

- Security Update for Windows IE7 (KB960714)

Hi Pa Bear,

All three bulletins are listed in Add or Remove Programs Show Updated
checked.

All three are listed in BelArc Advisor. Only KB953838 fails
verification, everytime.

Don't worry about it then. As long as KB958215 and KB9607914 is installed,
you're good to go.
