KB954430 fix

1 - From Microsoft update centre download & save to desktop
msxml4-KB954430-enu. 2 - Once downloaded & saved to your desktop go to,
add-remove programs under control panel and delete MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB954430).
3 - Now return to your desktop, double click on the the downloaded
msxml4-KB954430-enu & install.
4 - With the installation complete, again go to the microsoft update centre
and scan your computer for the latest updates.

This should result in zero updates (presuming all is up to date) but in
particular with the Security Update Microsoft Core Service 4.0 Service Pack 2
(KB954430) no longer showing, and with the icon, downlaods ready for
installation no longer showing.

I've been having problems with this particular update just because the update
icon on my toolbar kept constantly appearing - I always check to see which
update(s) Microsoft wants me to download and it was ALWAYS this one. I
thought I successfully installed this update before but I could've been
wrong... however, no matter how many times I tried to install it (from the
icon and website), I kept getting the "this update could not me installed"
message.
Luckily, I was browsing the forum to look for a solution and yours worked
perfectly!

i tried the steps you provided for but i cant seem to install it
windows vista keeps saying that there is an error in the installatio
log file. i re downloaded it and it still brings the same result. wha
should i do? thanks.
