kb955706 update won't install error 0x2b2f

I have just noticed that this update failed to download on my computer. It
seems this is an older update - the fix I found using the Windows Installer
Cleanup Utility is no longer available because it apparently caused some
other problems. I have windows xp version 5.1.

What Service Pack level are you using?, version of Internet Explorer? and
what other antivirus or antimalware software Security suite you may have
installed, and firewall, etc. etc.

The Windows Update NNTP newsgroup was supposed to be shut down
yesterday. Seeing that no one apparently knows the exact date of it's
demise, suggest you post this issue to the SQL Server Setup & Upgrade forum:
