KB956572 and mapping

Hello All,

We are running a website on Windows Server 2003, .NET Framework 2.0,
ASP/C#. In response to user interactions, the site sometimes executes
batch files containing net use commands to temporarily map to our file
servers. After installing KB956572, all of our net use commands began
to fail with "System Error 85, local device name is already in use."

- We verified that the local device name was NOT already in use, by
any sessions
- We can successfully map drives by manually entering net use commands
from a command prompt on the server
- We can successfully execute other batch files that do not contain
net use commands
- After uninstalling KB956572, functionality returned to normal

Is this an intended effect of the update? Is there a workaround? Is
mapping just a bad idea in the first place?

Thanks.
