I was having the issue where KB967715 kept trying to install over and over
via automatic updates and finally downloaded and installed in manually.
After I rebooted, strange things are happening. My windows bottom toolbar
turned from blue to white. I somehow fixed that by resetting my desktop
background. I also seem to have more frequent resource issues and have to
reboot.

Now the most annoying thing is that my sound scheme got changed. The Start
Navigation click is on and drives me bonkers in explorer. When I go into the
sound scheme to change it, it does not save. I tried created a new scheme
and the bugger just won't turn off. I would uninstall KB967715, but it does
not show in my Add/Remove programs. Any suggestions?

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/967715

From: Known issues with this security update
" Update 967715 may be reoffered if the HonorAutorunSetting registry
setting that is described in this article is not added to the registry
hive. This issue may occur if some other program that is installed on
the computer blocks the update from writing the registry entry. Such
software may block the update during the installation of the update or
may remove the registry entry after the computer is restarted. "

Since the update is not showing in Add/Remove Programs then it's
apparent that it's not installing properly because of interference from
security software.

Show hidden files, folders, and system folders (XP):
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tuto...l62.html#winxp

Then see if an uninstall subfolder was created in the WINDOWS directory.
WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB967715$
If the subfolder is present run the uninstaller, spuinst.ex, located in
the spuinst subfolder to remove KB967715.
Next, follow the steps under "Known issues with this security update" to
install it again *if* you want to.
