IE 8.0.6001.18828
Vista Home Premium SP2

Okay... update automagically restarted my computer in the middle o
the night. First problem, couldn't open large psds in Photosho
elements 6. Finally put the RAM up higher and that worked, but no
having another problem that may or may not be related to update (give
how many things I tried in order to fix the crashing when opening a ps
problem). Had been using this program for a couple of years withou
issue before update.

Next, ACDSee photo manager 2009 can't find database location like i
used to. Had been using this program without this problem for years o
a daily basis.

(Note - both of these databases are located on an external hard driv
if this makes any difference)

Now I don't have any restore points before the update - no restor
point for the update. I'm going to have to uninstall the update
guess.

Never had a problem like this before with any updates. Had both o
these programs open when the update took place and restarted th
computer. Any help appreciated

My best guess: coincidence, or a consequence of the programs being forcibly
restarted. Try uninstalling the update and see if the problems go away. Let us
know what happens and we may be able to provide further advice.

Note: it is always preferable to uninstall an update, if possible, rather than
using system restore. System Restore should be considered as a last resort only
if an update cannot be removed any other way.

Harry.
