I have been trying to download an important update, for a few days, on my
home computer and each time (which has been several), I've attempted the
download... It has been unsuccesful.

Te paso estas intrucciones dadas por el Sr. Robear Dyer [MS MVP] al igual

En primer lugar, ejecutar el Fix It en este artÃ*culo de KB y ver si la
actualización se instalará después de hacerlo:

Cuando las actualizaciones de instalar mediante Windows Update o Microsoft
Update puede usted recibirá un error 0x643 o 0x80070643 (23 de octubre-09)

A continuación, proceder siguiendo los siguientes pasos:

Paso # 1 => Antes de hacer cualquier otra cosa, escribir las versiones que
ya se encuentran instaladas del . NET Framework:

Pack aplicado

Después de ejecutar el la herramienta. NET Framework Liberador de espacio
(no la herramienta de limpieza de Windows), vuelva a instalar todas las
versiones de. NET Framework (pero sólo las que anotó en el # 1 más arriba)

continuación, ejecute Windows Update para instalar manualmente las
actualizaciones de seguridad para la misma.

NB: Si se quita. NET Framework 3.5 (SP1) con la herramienta, volver a
instalar. NET Framework 3.5, también se instalará. Net Framework 2.0 Service
Pack 2 y Service Pack 2 de 3,0, y luego Windows Update ofrecerá. NET
Framework 3.5 SP1.

¡IMPORTANTE! => Si se quita. NET Framework 3.5 (SP1), vuelva a instalar. NET
