After doing the last lot of updates I keep getting this error message at
startup(any suggestions on how to get rid of it):

RTHDCPL.EXE Illegal System DLL Relocation
The systemDLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not
run properly. The relocation occured because the DLL
C;\WINDOWS\system32\HHCTRL.OCX occupied an address range reserved for windows
system DDLs. The vendor supplying the DDl should be contacted for a new DDL

Hotfix KB935448 : http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=925902

Just for info, if you go to Add or Remove Programs (in Control Panel), tick
display all updated you wil see the update KB925902 which was the last
critical update (the one causing the problem). if you click on it you will
get a link to the support info for that update (Click here for supprt
information)

Why Microsoft didnt or have not yet released a critcal update and make
millions of people download the hotfix manually. Ask another!

I am getting exactly the same error message on boot-up. Having checked the
location of HHCTRL.OCX it seems to be a .dll supplied by Microsoft as part of
a previous update (SP2?).

Also need help!

Go to the hotfix link on my previous post click on 935448 link near the bottom.

Download the hofix in the resolotion section and rin it. Worked for me.

I also kept getting the same error, but I had another problem come with the
error. I have a Realtek HD Audio Manager that quit working when it updated.
I couldn't even get it to work in the control pannel. This made it to where
I couldn't use my headset because it was not recognizing the jack. Will the
hotfix fix that too?
