Besides the fact that it means that IE can't display the page, it means one
- or both - of two things:
1. You need to read the manual to find the correct address for your router.
As stated, not all routers use the same IP address.
2. If you connect to the router wirelessly, then you probably need to
connect to the router by an Ethernet cable, which is a PITA, since you'll
have to tell your computer how to do that. This is a feature, BTW - it
means that your router can't be hacked wirelessly by a remote computer -
you have to be physically present to modify it.
Oh, maybe a third thing: your browser needs the http:// in front of the IP
address, as in
http://192.168.1.1
