Keep Respectrive Web sites ICON?

When placing a 'shortcut ' on the Desktop, I would prefer to keep the Sites
Icon, and not the Windows symbol? Would appreciate guidance. thanks RG

You are referring to Favicons, read the following article on problems with
Favicons in IE 7, scroll down to the bottom:

Tutorial on Icons in Vista, harvesting icons, favicons, resizing icons to be
compatible with Vista, restoring and rebuilding icon cache, retaining
selected shortcut icons.
