Kicked off of Messenger because someone signes in as me

I have a friend who has Live messenger(latest)and when she is not signed
in(when out working), the popup comes up saying she signed in(even tho her
pc is off).
On the messenger window on my pc it shows as her being signed in and Lyndy
writes: Don't be loneley, see my **********
www.lyndy's.hotpics.com

It's not from her because she does not do stuff like that.
It happens when her pc is off.
It happens when her pc is on and chatting to me and when chatting to me she
gets disconnected from messenger at the same time as it says Lyndy signed
in.
The messages are different each time but all contain pornographic web links.
She gets kicked off of messenger at least ten times in 10 mins and each time
it is when the other messages come up as being from her when they are not.
Does anyone know what to do about it and is it that her live.co.uk account
is being hacked?

Greetings,

There's a number of possibilities, but just to start, she should immediately change her
password by visiting http://account.live.com, signing in with her Live ID and choosing the
Change link next to the Password field.

Hi, thanks.
To test my theory of live and hotmail accounts being hacked I set up a new
ID and password for her before reading this.
Within 3 minutes of her signing in to Messenger with the new ID and password
the exact same thing happened.

This time after signing in with new ID and password she was signed out of
messenger(within a few minutes of signing in), then it came up on my
messenger that she had signed in(she had not), then one of the messages
including a URL, then another pop up saying she had signed out(she was
already signed out), then one saying she had signed in(this time it was
her).
Then she saw the message that said it came from her even tho at the time she
was not signed in.
So if using a new ID and password to sign in to Messenger does not solve
whatever is going on then just what will.
How can someone get hold of her new ID and password within a few minutes of
her using it?

I once signed up a Hotmail account with the intent of deliberately allowing
it to be compromised. Couldn't even give it away. Maybe check your friend's
computer for a keylogger, or similar malware.

This is a very commmon occurance of late! this isn't a case of being hijacked
or hacked, more a case of viral contamination! once somebody clicks on the
link thy also become infected and so the thing gets passed from pperson to
person to person! i have tried the earlier messenger worm removal tools and
have had no luck with them, have had a bit of luck with uninstalling windows
live and then reinstalling the program!!

Any comments on this?
