KMS server administration

I'm trying to get our KMS server up and running. I have a few students who
are working on adding enough computers to the server. I want them to be able
to check how many computers are currently activated on this server through
(slmgr.vbs vistakms -dli). Every time they try and do this they get an error
(Error 0x80070005 occurred in connecting to server vistakms). These students
can ping vistakms and they can activate to the server but for some reason
they can't check the status. Is this an Admin thing. I don't have them as
admins as of right now because i didn't really want to give them admin rights
to the kms server. Is there something else i should check? Thanks.

Hello,
That error is an access denied message.
They need elevate to administrators to be able to get the output.
Thanks,
