Now I have to install Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 to get anywhere with
this Windows Update site. A known bad application for Windows 2000 and to
proceed with this update site I have to install this junky Browser.
Unbelieveable.

Still getting updates with IE 5.5-SP2 from several Win2K units
around here. What problems are you encountering with your's?

The option to install IE 6 is pre-selected and you CANNOT de-select it. Try
it you'll see.

I'm about as cynical as they come, being associated with
computers for close to 40 years. Am running IE6.0-SP1 with
Windows 2000. So what if it is junky. Use it for whatever
needs it but rely on Netscape or Mozilla for all of the
other important stuff.
