Unfortunately they're not always that easy to replace, and if you're not
that comfortable with computers then you may be better off taking it to a
professional, or a computer savvy friend to do it for you. The battery can
sometimes be hidden away in pretty obscure places. The exact procedure will
depend on the particular make of your machine, but you basically need to
open up the machine, and quite possibly remove other internal parts too, and
replace the battery with a new one.
If you want to do it yourself, then see if you can find an owners manual
that details how to take the lid off, which parts you'd need to remove, and
where the battery is located etc. You may be able to find this via Google,
if you don't have it with the computer. Google for the make of your
computer, and download any manuals you find. Once you've found the internal
location then it's not that complicated. You just take the old one with your
fingers, and slot in a new one.
If you also Google for 'change cmos battery' or the French equivalent, then
you should find plenty of guides to help you through the procedure.
