Hi All

My laptop, HP dv9000, Vista, SATA harddriv
Sceen whent black and i could do anything not even restart
couldn't reboot; tried using restore disks to install Vista fro
scratch but although it appeared to show a volume, it says it wa
unrecognize
i tried pulling driver off of the restore disk but perhaps I didn'
find the right one during the Vista install....is this my real problem

so using diskpart (I have the harddrive in and the Vista Home Premi C
in the drive
> list disk - only shows Disk
> Disk 0, status=unreadable, size=149GB,Free=149GB,Dyn is null, Gpt i

nul
> select disk
> list partitio

There are no partitions on this disk to show
> list volum

Volume 0, Ltr D, Type=DVD-ROM (only reading the cd disc

> detail dis

Disk Id: 0000000
Type: RAI
Bus:
Target:
LUN ID:
There are no volumes

I can't create partitions/volumes. Repair doesn't work either. I als
believe I can't format if it sees no partition or volume
I've tried converting to dynamic doesnt work

Is this a physical problem
Do i have to buy a new disk

Thx for reviewing

It's sounds like to me that you hard drive crashed, You might want t
buy a new one. Whenever a hard drive becomes unreadable that means it i
screwed. Sorry for the bad news...
