Laptop sleeps then bluescreen

My Gateway laptop gives me the blue screen of death everyother time that it
wakes from sleep mode. The first time after a fresh re-boot, it works fine,
but the next time it sleeps, when I press a key, it causes the blue screen of
death.

I have seen many comments about Vista sleep problems, but no one has
reported the same symptoms I'm experiencing. This "every other time" ocurred
on a previous laptop. My present laptop didn't do this until I did a Windows
Vista update on 11/29/07.

Now this Laptop (both are Gateway Laptops) does the same thing.

Makes Sleep mode unuseable.

I've had it a couple times on my desktop but I can live with it until Uncle
Bill gets Vista straightened out. Now on your case I couldn't. Have you
tried hibernate instead? Takes a few seconds longer to load but if it
solves your problem then I would do that until a cure comes along.

Sleep, hibernate...same symptoms. First time, everything works just like it
should, but the second time, I get the dreaded "blue screen" and have to
re-boot.

I've done a system restore to a date prior to the last Windows update, and
sleep seems to be working okay again. I'll keep you posted.

Hey Gus, anything new with this issue? It seems that I have exactly the
same issue.
The only trouble is that I had to reinstall Vista completely (died
after SP1 installation) and all the updates got installed in one go.

Now I don't know, which update it was that you mentioned in your post -
from November 2007.
Could you please specify exactly what update it was so that I can
uninstall it?

Thanks in advance.
