Do you mean burn slowly?

This is a Windows Update newsgroup, you should ask this in a windows XP
newsgroup:
http://aumha.org/nntp.htm

If your computer is slow in general, start here:

Go to Start
RUN
Type MSCONFIG
Look for the Start Up tab
Turn off everything except for you Antivirus and Internet Connection
When you click OK, it'll ask you to Exit Reboot.
After Rebooting, you'll see a Dialog box appear.
Click Do Not Show This Again

Every time you you install software, it runs in the background and slow your
system by using up your RAM and also possible conflicts.
Hope this helps.

"Turn off everything except for you Antivirus and Internet Connection"
Most computers including mine need more than you left to run safely and
properly.
You have now disabled firewall, spyware killers and a host of other
important programs.
You totally ignore what someone else is doing.
Just because that may seem to work for you is not indicative of it working
for others.

"Every time you install software, it runs in the background"
Not True, many do but not all.
