LaserJet 1000 64-bit Driver

I know there is no specific Vista64 driver for this printer from HP, but was
wondering if there is another driver which might work, for instance, the
64-bit Universal driver from HP. Has anyone tried this?

I have an HP Laserjet P2605dn installed as a LAN printer. The only
Vista 64 driver available is the Universal driver which works perfectly.
There are versions for PCL5, PCL6, and Postscript, and each version
allows USB or LAN printer connection. The print dialog windows enable
all the printer features, identical to those of the Win XP 32 bit drivers.

This printer will be connected directly to the Vista 64 PC via parallel
port. If I need to, I can make it a LAN printer with a mini print server.
