Last batch of updates toasted XPSP3, Last known Configuration hangs, Safe
Mode hangs. I have no other choice but to backup data, format and reload.
Thanks Microsoft! Another wonder product!

How did you backup the data? My friend is currently running on a Vista on a
Toshiba P30019P, but I think he had the same problem as you did. Safe Mode
doesn't work, running normally doesn't work so yeah. The only thing that
seems to be working is Safe Mode with Command Prompt.. any ideas?

You have to pull the hard drive out and attach it to a another computer, for
laptops they make a adapter called USB to SATA/IDE that will give you the
ability of mounting your toasted hard drive, and cut and paste stuff off your
toasted hard drive and onto you working computer.

Grab hold of a linux live-CD, boot from it, connect an USB hard disk and
backup your data files from your windows drive.
