Last Modified file dates

How do I turn on the "last modified date" in Vista. My defrag says it isn't
available to do an optimal defrag of my files.

Sorry, you have to be more specific here. Last Modified Date is one of
the default columns in Windows Explorer. What that has to do with "My
defrag" is beyond me. What, exactly, is "My defrag"? Windows built-in
defrag or a third party app?

JKDefrag optimizes the way it structures your files on the hard drive for
optimum speed. When I selected "optimize" in their settings, it told me the
"last modified date" option in Vista was no turned on. They do this to place
the most frequently accessed files nearer the read/write heads of your hard
drive for faster access. I assume to mimimize the read/write head movement
searching around for files.

Ooooookay... can't help you there. As far as I know, one does not
enable/disable "last modified date". That's a file attribute that's part
of the file system.

If you think about that , then the files are going to be (de)fragged ?
