lastest update.. keeping things from loading??

installed the lastest update, not sites like Pogo and Gamesville will not
load. It there a way to change the settings? Can I just uninstall the
update??

If by the latest update, you mean KB891711, please do Start/Run, and type
"msconfig" and run it. Uncheck the box which launches kb891711.exe at
startup, and reboot. If this is the only problem, all should be well now.

Await further word from Microsoft about how to proceed with this Win Update.

You didn't mention what your "latest update" was. If you know, can you
uninstall it in Add-Remove Programs?

And have you run all your anti-spyware tools and the AV scan recently?
