Latest Genuine Advantage Tool does not install

With the new version of the website, the new version of the Genuine Advantage
Tool refuses to install, but no error message is available.

No problems with the Genuine Advantage Tool in the old version of the Update
site.

Note: This is not a problem with Windows being genuine - the tool simply
does not install. Without this, nothing else works.

Launch Internet Explorer and from the Toolbar select:
Tools > Internet Options > Settings > View Objects.
Right-click on each item denoted as "Windows Genuine
Advantage Validation Tool" and select "Remove".

Afterward, revisit the Windows Update web site.

The Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) validation check process
does not complete when you try to validate your copy of Windows XP
or Windows 2000 Professional

Forgot to quote the error number on the last post, which made it hard to
answer, but the error number did not return results in a search of Microsoft
website either (although Google has it and it is on MS website after all).
