Thus - my recommendation you always get hardware drivers from the
manufacturer of said hardware. They are the one with a vested interest in
said product and the only ones who create the drivers (usually.) Getting
the non-microsoft hardware drivers from Microsoft all-but-guarantees you
will get an older driver than that being offered currently by the actually
manufacturer. Most manufacturers would not be able to afford (nor want to
try) getting every driver release they have put out certified through
Microsoft. For many that could be several a month.
I have always recommended everyone get their drivers for non-microsoft
hardware from the non-microsoft source.
