I have a Win98 sp2 machine that I received updates on just last night.
These updates crashed my ADO libraries and I can no longer create an
ADO object. All library calls to create object fail.

KB911562 Security Update for MS Data Access Components 2.8 and
KB912812 Comulative Security Update for IE6 SP1.

I'm guessing that the culpret is KB911562.

How do I (and my customers, if necessary) uninstall the debilitating
patch?

-Dave

I have same problem. Seems to ADO's dll registration broken. When I
tried to manually register msado15.dll I got error:
"LoadLibrary("c:\program files\common files\system\ADO\msado15.dll")
failed.
GetLastError returns 0x0000001f "

I have a Windows 98 machine too and am experiencing the same problem.
Has anyone found a fix yet for it? Thanks.

I found this on another Win98 group. I haven't tried it, yet.

* The 'fix' is to download and install MDAC 2.8 SP 1 (available at
*
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...D=78cac895-efc...)
* and ADO will magically work again.
