Latest Update

I have been battling the latest windows vista update for 3 days now,
continually being forced to system restore to a point where my volume control
hasnt been permanently disabled. After automatically updating, my comp
reboots and on restart the touch pad volume control signal is red and stays
red, which means its stuck on mute. I've tried manually changing volume
settings but the touch pad control stays paralyzed while the speakers remain
muted. So I have just been restoring the system. Now I am forced to turn off
automatic updates indefinitely, which I'm looking to avoid.
Anything?

Change the way you update and install one update at a time - rebooting
between each one until you find the update that seems to cause you
issue(s)...

Come back and post that KB article number here.

Uninstall that update from your system to confirm that after removal,
everything works normally.
