I had a similar experience with my client's Microsoft Dynamics CRM server.
I opted to remove only KB973917 (as described at
http://thecrmgrid.wordpress.com/2009...d-my-app-pool/) and now the server is working fine.
I don't understand why our default, basic installation should have had a
problem with this install, though I haven't investigated it properly yet...
