Latest updates wont install!

I have been trying to update my computer thru the microsoft updat epage but
when it is initializing nothing happens and about 5 minutes later it says
that it is unable to install the updates! It comes up with,

WARNING: Extended error for reported error 80246008 = 80080005

How do I get around this??? Also as of yesterday comes up "not responding"
when trying to view web pages. Is this related???
