After installing the latest round of Vista and IE7 patches this morning,
McAfee threw up an error that the an automated process was trying to change
the IE7 security zones (details below). This is probably legit since it
happened on reboot after installing the patches, but it still seems a bit odd
(I declined each of the modifications). Anyone have any thoughts or info on
this change, or run into the same errors after this patch round? Thanks!

OS: Vista Ultimate
Patches Installed:
KB929123
KB890830
KB936825
KB905866
KB933566
KB931213

McAfee:
Security Center v7.2.147
VirusScan 11.2.124

McAfee Error Message (same error 6 times in a row):
SystemGuards have blocked a one-time change to your computer
Process: C:\Windows\System32\ie4uinit.exe
Process description: IE Per-User Initialization Utility
Process version: 7.00.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101-2205)

McAfee's SystemGuards ask you for confirmation before letting any program
tweak certain critical system areas. Program SystemGuards watch such things
as changes to the start-up sequence and ActiveX installations. Windows
SystemGuards monitor the HOSTS file, Task Scheduler, the WIN.INI file, and
more. And Browser SystemGuards alert you to changes to the Internet Explorer
Home Page, browser settings, and add-ins.

This may have triggered it.

After you apply security update 929123, you may be prompted by a dialog box
that requests more input about how to continue when you browse a Web site
Install the latest available cumulative security update for Internet
Explorer. This is necessary because three of the vulnerabilities that are
described in security update 929123 could allow information disclosure if a
user visits a specially-crafted Web page by using Internet Explorer. These
vulnerabilities cannot be exploited directly by using Outlook Express.

Vista Updates affect Windows Media Center

After having updated Vista on my Packard Bell iMedia J6480 with the same six
KB929123
KB890830
KB936825
KB905866
KB933566
KB931213
my Windows Media Center won't work anymore.
It starts up all right, the menu is functioning but ..
No matter what menu options I choose, after ten seconds Windows Media Center
is automatically blocked. 'WMC doesn't work any more - Looking for a solution
- We have a problem and the program will shut down automatically - We'll
notify you when a sloution is available'
