Dear Sirs

Just to inform you that something is really wrong with last update pack.
After installation of updates, system is not responding any more. I tried it
twice (second time after I recovered computer from backup), with same
consequence and I don’t have other choice than to block automatic updates if
I want my computer continue to work.

Description of the problem:

I have installed WinXP SP3 with all updates up to now, on Samsung NC10
Netbook. After Installation of latest update and restarting (after is
requested) explorer.exe is continuously occupying 50 percent of processor
resources and nothing else can be started. No antivirus (Awast) or firewall
(ZoneAlarm) won’t to be initiated (or any other software which should be
initiated during boot sequence). Also, any other software is refusing to
start. After given command to shutdown the netbook, it gives indication that
program explorer.exe is “not running and I should end it now”. With any
attempt to restart everything is repeating again.

Millions of users have installed WinXP SP3 since April 2008 without having
such problems.

WinXP SP3 - Read all prerequisites for a successful installation

Were Avast and ZA running in the background when you installed SP3?

Free unlimited installation and compatibility support for WinXP SP3 was
available from 14 April 2008 thru May 2009. Such support will cost you
US$59 per incident now.
