Hey, Um... Whenever I try to launch a game or activity in Windows Live
Messenger (I'm just gonna call it WLM from now on) it starts to load fine and
then the Error Reporting Dialogue appears and WLM gets stuck.

It's happening on our desktop PC only... I can access games fine on my
laptop normally. It's weird, it starts to load, and just before the advert
comes up the Error Reporting Dialogue appears. So far I've tried disabling
the firewall and trying and setting messenger so it doesn't ask for a
password before hotmail/WL Mail.

Uh, on the computer there's avast! antivirus, Windows Defender and Zone
Alarm (I know there was an issue with Zone Alarm, but I updated it so there
shouldn't be a problem?). We just upgraded to Internet Explorer 7, but it
wasn't working before that so I don't reckon that's the problem. My sister,
the one trying to play the games, runs as a User and not an Administrator...
but when she logged on as an Administrator she wasn't asked to install an
ActiveX or anything... it just crashed again.

I'm not too sure what else to do really, it's probably something really
simple but I can't work out what's wrong. Is there something up with the
games lately? I tried to play one the other day (on my laptop) and it kept
signing me into Windows Live Account rather than the game. :S I took a
screenshot in case anyone wants to take a look.

Mike.

- Make sure you are using the latest version of WLM (8.0.0812.00)
- Look in Tools > Options > Security for the first option (Ask me for my
password...)... make sure it is unchecked.
- Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. Go to
www.adobe.com and look for "get flash player".

Yep, I've got the latest version, the checkbox is unchecked and I've got the
latest version of Adobe Flash Player. For Flash Player, I downloaded the
latest version for Internet Explorer... That's alright isn't it?

The games still don't work.

Greetings,

I'm wondering if your XML parser is corrupted. I dont know if this will
help, it may, it may not, but can you try downloading and installing MSXML
4.0 Service Pack 2 (Microsoft XML Core Services)?

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

Tell me if that works.

Okay, I won't be able to get on the computer till Wednesday, I don't think,
but I'll try that then. Just thought I'd say so you wouldn't think I'd
forgotten or dropped dead or something.

Thanks for all the help so far .
I'll post back soon.

I downloaded & installed that XML thingymebob and no, it still doesn't work.
The error reporting dialogue comes up and WLM closes as per usual.

Um, any other ideas. :S

Once again, thanks for the help so far.
