my lcd has vertical lines of color on the screen. It got progessively worse
until nothing shows but these lines. I'm downloading video drivers now is
there another solution to my problem?

Most likely only two software possibilities - new monitor drivers and/or new
video drivers.

Hardware issues - swap with a known good monitor and/or video card.
