left4dead.exe has stopped working

Howdy, I'm trying to enjoy Left 4 Dead but I keep getting the erro
"left4dead.exe has stopped working" and that only happens when I pla
online. Offline has never crashed.

My system is
Vista 64 Ultimate SP
Athlon 64 X2 500
Radeon X1800XT running Catalyst 8.1
ASUS A8R-MV

Everything is all up to date with drivers. This is driving me nuts! An
help so I can enjoy zombie slaying goodness online? Thank

Hey bro I had the same problem but I have a solution for you which wil
allow you to play left4dead without the error message and also wil
enable system information to be displayed in msinfo32. Here's what yo
do. Be logged on as an Administrator, open cmd prompt as administrato
via right click and type in the following command without the quote
"net localgroup administrators NetworkService /ADD". Press enter, yo
should get a successful message. Exit cmd and try to launch l4d. Let m
know if this helped. ;

Thanks, but I got another fix, instead of installing it to C:\progra
files i installed to C:\Games. Ever since doing this I never had
problem. I think Vista has some sort of watch on the Program File
folder
