Library not registering music

THe player still plays music and everything fine, however it has nothing in
the library. when i select the option to add to the library it finds nothing.
in the advanced options it has no folders which it is supposed to moniter.
when i select a folder for it to monter and click continue however this still
finds nothing, then when i go back into the same option it no longer has any
monitering folders. nothing i do seems to affet it. what should i do?

That sounds a lot like a corrupted library. Follow the instructions at
http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#medialibrary to rebuild it.
