I have recorded TV shows from my DVR in AVI format. When adding them to my
library they automatically get added to my 'Video' library. Is there a way to
force them to be added to my 'Recorded TV' library?

Hi Neil

Unfortunately, I don't see any way to tell WMP to classify AVI files as
Recorded TV. The only possible values for the PerceivedType entry are
"audio" and "video". I also checked some other things in the registry
but didn't find anything. It wouldn't surprise me if these
classifications are hard-coded in WMP.

BrerLappyn, you could try changing the extension of the AVI files to
..dvr-ms, though I'm not sure if WMP will still play them afterwards.

Regards

You are right. I have just tried changing the extension of an AVI file
to .dvr-ms and WMP didn't want to play it anymore.
