I have windows vista ultamate on my machine and I dont have a valid licence.
How do I resolve this ?

I bought this machine vista home premium when I worked at the Microsoft Xbox
group and they over wrote my operating system with windows vista ultamate.
Now I am not working there and dont have a license to run vista on my machine.

Can I buy and upgrade from windows vista home premium to windows vista
ultamate ?

Can I get a restore disk from Toshiba and restore vista home premium ? Will
this destroy all of the files that I have on my machine ?

Or do I have to by a full blown copy of windows vista ultamate ?

How you gonna do that when the OS on the machine is Ultimate? Hmmm?

IF you could get such a disc, then yes, it would destroy everything.

By Jimminy... I think you've GOT it!

Consult the documentation for the PC, you may have an onboard recover to
reinstall Home Premium, back up all important files first as it will erase
the drive during the process, or contact Toshiba tech support.

Yes, if you first get it back to Vista Home Premium.

Probably, but check first to see if you have a recovery partition. Contact
Toshiba and ask them if you're not sure.

In this case, probably so. I would play it safe and back everything up.

No, you would be able to upgrade. Contact MS for details.

I don't know how Toshiba does it, but my HP came with Home Premium and an
"Anytime Upgrade" disc. I was able to buy the upgrade online and received a
license key to enter during the upgrade using the disc.
