No. A separate license is needed for each computer.

OK thanks gw. One more questions. One of my computer is old and when I
want to replace it with a new computer, could I reuse the license from the
old computer or do I have to purchase another license.

I suppose MS store the license key with the computer serial number after
installation.

If it is a retail license and you remove it from the old computer then yes
you can use it on the new but if it was OEM they are usually tied to the
first machine they are installed on.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Joan.

For future reference how does one go about in removing window from a computer?

Format or destroy the hard drive that has Windows installed on it.

Thank you again GW.

I thought one have to do the unintall on line so it could be unregistered
from MS database. Maybe is only me I find it a bit confusing with MS
licensing policy and with the automatic on line verification make me feel a
bit lost.

And to find support info is also difficult it took me several hours to find
this discussion site.

Thank you all for the help.

Would your new computer not come with Windows pre-installed?

If not, when you re-install Windows on the new computer, it will connect to
MS to validate. MS will see that your hardware configuration has changed
considerably, and may ask you to phone them to explain the changes. They
will give you a new activation number to punch in on the validation screen.
It's really simple and only takes a couple of minutes.

I don't know what version you got with your WGA kit. If it's a full retail
version, there should be no problem transferring the license to a new PC.

Hope this helps.
