Hi,

I am planning to implement the following WSS 3.0 scenario and unfortunately
I do not know how many licenses (and which) I exactly need.

At first some words to the environement
- 2 Windows 2003 r2 standard (1 for WSS 3.0 and 1 for MSSQL 2005)
- 1 MSSQL 2005 Standard
- 100 Users connecting only to WSS and not per TS

As far as I know I need to purchase the following licenses:
- 2 Windows 2003 R2 Standard server licenses
- 1 MSSQL 2005 Standard per server license
now it comes to the users.. all users are on windows xp professional. Other
blogs say that for any service a user conducts from a server .. he needs a
CAL. Is this correct ?
- If so.. I would need 100 Windows 2003 User CALs. Or do Windows XP Clients
have already a built in Windows 2003 CAL ?

thanks for your help

regards
Sven

Hello Sven W.,

To be sure to have the correct amount of licenses call Microsoft support
or your license reseller, they will give you the correct information.
