Controlpanel-->Power-->SelectPlan (3 presets available), under selected plan
there's a radiobutton which says:
"change plan settings", click it.
You're in Plan Settings, one of the links says "CHANGE ADVANCED POWER
SETTINGS".

Click it, and scroill down to Processor Power Management. It's just a fancy
word for CPU clockspeed, you can set fgrom 0 to 100%, for min & max range.

When I limit CPU to 25% max, I can hear fan stops and everything gets
cooler, but so does the speed drops! So if you do wordprocessing or simple
things on a battery, I set o 25%, if I work with complex CAD drawings on
ACpower I set to 70-90%.
I don't like 100% because my machine is fast enough and I don't like to
OVERHEAT processor, cause I am unemployed since 2 mos ago and if it goes
down, i'd be in megatrouble

OMG, someone is keeping my "instructions"?

Flattering, but don't follow me or anyone rigidly, use own judgement, I have
a different processor & applications, so my settings are personal, OK, have
a good one....
