I have a windows vista home premium at 34bit and my tv tuner card is a
'gigabyte GT-PTV-TAF-RH.' My problem is that i can barely watch tv on my
computer through windows media center or the software (power cinema) provided
by the tuner card. With windows media center, channels scans consistently
give me only one channel despite the fact that there are many channels in my
area. And with that one channel, though the quality is satisfactory (not
fuzzy), the picture does lag. So it feels more like watching a painstaking
picture show with laggy sound quality as well than actually watching tv.
Trying to watch tv with the supplied software is even more hopeless as the
software can't even detect a tv signal.

Could someone please help me with resolving the windows media center issue??
btw, i've tried connecting the tv tuner card with a cable as well as with
the antenna, but with no difference in situation.

What country are you in?
Is the channel that you can recieve terrestrial or digital?
Is your antenna strength strong - as in a roof aerial?
Do you have the latest 32 (not 34) bit drivers for your TV Card?

I'm in Australia. The channel i'm getting is a digital channel. I'm not
sure if my antenna is strong or not. It's currently connected through the
cable. The cable was previously connected to a tv, and watching that tv was
fine. As for the drivers, i've downloaded the latest windows vista
compatible 32 bit driver.
