Link for webpage showing version

What was that link for the windows live messenger on the microsoft site which
actually displays which version you would be downloading? I would like to
check it every so often so I can get version 8.5 when it comes out of beta.

Well the download center will show you the exact version if you mean that. However, 8.5
hasn't yet reached the download center since it's in beta.

As such, there's nothing really on Microsoft.com to do what you're looking for that I'm aware
of.
