Linking Proxy Settings to Network Name

Hello,

As you may know, vista has a concept of a network name.

When I am at work, this becomes the DNS for work, at home it becomes my
HotSpot name, on a Train it becomes the Train hotspot name and so on.

But.... these are all classed as LAN connection, so I change to change my
proxy settings.

I know you can get proxy switchers but do any switch automatily based on the
network name.

It would be nice if IE had settings per network name instead of one big LAN
setting.

Steve

Windows has no ability like the one you seek. As you have noted, there are
third-party programs that offer some of the functionality you need.

I havent seen one that sets this automaticly based on the network location.

I am thinking of creating such a tool.

He acknowledge that Windows has no such thing built in. He said "it would
be nice" as in a suggestion.
