Links to mail, my spaces and MSN today does not work

I have Vista Ultimate SP1 and Live Messenger 8.5, recently installed, but
none of the links work.

When I select i.e. the mail button, IE opens, but there is not any adress in
the adress line, so, it is not possible to connect with Hotmail. The same
happens when I select "Send an email" in any of the contacts, or when I
select the button "MSN Live Today".

I re-installed WLM several times, made a clean installation, connected and
disconnected the firewall (Live One Care), but no way.

Any idea, any help??
