LinkSys Update Causing Problems

I downloaded one of Microsoft Updates for the Linksys
Wireless program. During installation I received the
message "the utility is going to update the firmware on
this card. After clicking "OK," this error message
appeared: "Image will not work on current card; Current
card is Platform 8013. Image built for 800a, 800b, 8012,
8016, 801a."

Since then I constantly have a box appearing,
saying "Instant Wireless Configuration Utility; firmware
too old for running on this environment." The only
option is to exit/cancel. Even so, the message box
repeatedly appears, prompting me to have to click those
boxes several times every 30 minutes. It is a big
inconvenience.

Anyone out there have a solution on how to rid myself of
this pest?

Thanks

Best Practice: Upon seeing that Microsoft is offering an update for your
hardware, you should decline. Instead, go to the device manufacturer's site
and check for updates for your device.

At this point you should go to your device manufactuer's site and check for
latest driver and latest firmware. You want to have both installed.
