Lite Messenger

I have a client with a bunch of older computers that do not have a whole lot
of resources available to them. They are slow. I am wanting to add some type
of IM utility to each of the computers to allow better support and response
when they have problems. But, Messenger is way too big and uses up way too
much RAM for these older systems. I have been searching and searching for a
very lite IM utility that I could install so that users on these systems can
IM me and I can IM them back. Does anyone know of anything I could use? I
would like to stay with the MSN (or Live) Messenger network but will use
another one if there is no such lite utility for it. All I need is the
ability to instant message back and forth, no smilies, no special sounds,
just send and receive text.

Thanks in advance for your comments and suggestions.

Well I dont know of any personally but you could ask a programmer to build
you a very basic IM as Im a noob to programming but have seen it and I think
many programmers could do it or you just ask about and see.

I may have just found what I have been looking for (finally). It is called
Miranda IM. I am currently testing it and it only uses 1,892K of RAM. Not
bad. It appears to work with all of the major IM networks but you have the
option of which ones to have installed when you initially install the
program (I'm sure the more you have installed, the more memory it uses when
running). I am just installing the MSN portion. Anyway, here is a link in
anyone is interested in taking a look.
